Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Sept. 7 Edition – Centenary College Athletics

Hey Ladies Fans! Senior (can’t believe I just said that!) Kendall Huff here with this week’s Gym Talk!
We have all been busy getting back into the swing of classes, practice, studying and other campus activities. I don’t know about everyone else, but I am definitely having to polish up my time management skills after a fun summer! In the gym, your Ladies are continuing to work hard on existing skills and upgrades. Here are some highlights from the week! Freshman Sophie Schmitz took her release move to the competition bars, freshmen Amy Foret did her series on the high beam, and last but not least, senior Rose Deshler and sophomore Emma Lavelle started doing full routines on beam again! I can’t wait to see everything the upcoming Ladies will bring to the team. As for conditioning, the Ladies started their dark & early track workouts this week. This year, we are running at and around campus as our normal track/stadium is undergoing renovations. At least that gives us a few extra minutes of sleep!
Labor Day weekend was open, and we were able to enjoy some down time. Some girls went home while others stayed on campus and enjoyed each other’s company. I will say that it has been a very fun beginning to the semester, especially since we have not had to adhere to too many COVID restrictions. On another note, K1 and K2 graduated, and I am now the only Kendall on the team. I don’t know if I even know how to respond to being called Kendall here at Centenary! It is very strange.
Thanks for checking in and have a great week!
XOXO
Kendall (K3, Huff)
