While we have spotted Deepika enjoying decadent food on certain occasions, she also makes sure to follow a strict diet
Deepika Padukone is one of the leading actors in Bollywood. With some of the biggest hits in recent years to her credit, Deepika has received a lot of love, praise and fan following for her on-screen performances. But that’s not all, Deepika is also an inspiration to many when it comes to fitness and diet. The Padmaavat star is known for her intense fitness regime, and she has often spoken about the importance of disciplined eating habits and diet in her life.
While we have spotted Deepika enjoying decadent food on certain occasions – be it a dense chocolate loaf (her favourite) or home-cooked South Indian meals – she also makes sure to follow a strict diet and exercise regularly. Now, if you are wondering what Deepika’s daily diet looks like, we’ve got some secrets spilled right here. Here is the actor’s diet plan that you can bookmark.
1. No strict no-nos
Deepika isn’t someone who limits herself to a strict diet plan. And so, there are no strict nos in her daily meals. The actor believes in enjoying food, but she eats smartly, and makes healthy choices. According to a report in Vogue, Deepika doesn’t stop herself from eating anything, but makes sure she eats just the right amount to fill her stomach.
2. Eats six meals a day
Deepika reportedly ensures to eat enough to fill her stomach, and so she eats every couple of hours. She has a simple diet rule: ‘never eat with your eyes, eat enough to fill your stomach and never overeat’. Six small meals a day make sure that she doesn’t overeat and also that she eats enough to not feel hungry.
3. Loves a nutritious breakfast
Apparently, Deepika begins her day with a glass of warm water mixed with honey and lime or a cup of water with fenugreek seeds that are soaked overnight. She then moves on to a protein-rich breakfast, which mostly consists of two egg whites on toast.

Proteins are the building blocks of our body, and also help in collagen production, which helps make your skin and hair look and feel healthy. Besides, Deepika has also confessed when she is back home in Bengaluru, she loves to sip on filter coffee and gorge on some idli sambar. Since idli is fermented, it isn’t an unhealthy option, and is, in fact, good for gut health, and it also makes you feel full for a longer time.
4. Has a pre-lunch treat
Since Deepika’s daily diet involves about six meals, she makes sure not to go without eating a light meal until lunch. A little before lunch she eats a bowl of fresh fruits along with some greens in a bowl. Packed with antioxidants and other essential nutrients, her pre-lunch treat makes sure she doesn’t overeat during lunch.
5. Enjoys a wholesome lunch
Deepika’s lunch is different on different days, but never compromised on nutrition. While on some days it is pretty simple – sabzi, dal, and roti – which is a good mix of carbs and protein, on certain days, it contains two chapatis, grilled fish, and a variety of fresh vegetables. Deepika’s comfort, however, lies in a simple meal of rasam and rice.
6. Opts for nutty evening snacks
Deepika has confessed to craving some snacks in the evening, and so she controls the same by munching on some nuts, including almond and some filter coffee.
7. Dinner is often light
She likes to keep her dinner light, and eats two chapatis, fresh vegetables, and green salad for the last meal of the day. She has a bit of a sweet tooth too, which she satiates with a piece of dark chocolate for dessert, occasionally.
