By Barry Holbrook: Anthony Joshua is already in the gym training for his mega-fight against Tyson Fury on December 3rd in Cardiff.
Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) accepted all terms this week for a clash against WBC heavyweight champion Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), and he’s now got little time to train before meeting up with ‘The Gypsy King’ on December 3rd.
AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn wanted December 17th and a 60-40 split for the rematch clause, but they had no option of getting what they wanted, as Fury wasn’t going to budge.
Judging by Joshua’s physique in comparison to Fury’s, he probably doesn’t need an extra two weeks to prepare for this fight.
The only thing Joshua needs is a good game plan that he can employ to defeat Fury because it’s an arguably more winnable fight than his last two against Oleksandr Usyk.
“He’s in the position he is now. You’re losing to great fighters, but we don’t intend to lose,” said Eddie Hearn to iFL TV when asked where does Anthony Joshua go if he loses to Tyson Fury.

“It’s very harsh on people to talk about defeats when you’re fighting that caliber. If you want him [Joshua] not to suffer defeats, I’ll keep him unbeaten for the rest of his career.
“He doesn’t want it; I don’t want it, fans don’t want it. We can’t walk down the street for the last three or four years without people saying to us, ‘When’s the Fury-AJ fight?’ Well, guess what? It might be December 3rd.
“I’m not going to stop the fight from happening with ego. It’s Queensbury and Matchroom, and we’ve already talked about doing fights together. The undercard will slot into place once we get the bigger issues resolved.
“Firstly, let’s get the contract. Secondly, let’s let the broadcasters talk, and thirdly let’s keep the momentum going to make this happen. All the conversations with George [Warren] have been around this fight. A couple of other conversations have been about other fights as well.
“Our focus, both of us right now, is to try and make this fight. We have the opportunity here to make the biggest fight in British boxing the biggest fight in boxing, and we’ll see if it can become a reality,” said Eddie Hearn.
